TZ-CERT Profile

Tanzania Computer Emergency Response Team abbreviated as TZ-CERT, is a team with the responsibility of coordinating response to cyber security incidents at the national level and cooperate with regional and International entities involved with the management of cyber security incidents. TZ-CERT was established under section 124 of the Electronic and Postal Act (EPOCA) no 3/2010 within the structure of Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA).

Our Objectives

To improve and support the nation’s cyber security posture, coordinate information sharing and proactively manage cyber risk while enhancing Constituencies commitment.

Our Mission

The fundamental objective of the National CERT (TZ-CERT) is to ensure a high and effective level of network and information security within the country and to develop a culture of network and information security for the benefit of the entire community (government, citizens, consumers, enterprises and public sector organisations) thus contributing to a smooth and safer functioning of the on-line activities.
